our story
I love cold brew. I just can’t drink it.
A full-strength cup is too much caffeine for me. I love everything else about it: the smooth, chocolatey depth, the way it pours over ice on a hot afternoon. But one cup and I’m done for the day.
And somewhere along the way, coffee shops swapped iced coffee for cold brew, so there was nothing left on the menu for me. Iced coffee was my speed. Then it vanished, replaced everywhere by something twice as strong.
So I’m making the cold brew I actually wanted. Half-caff: real coffee, real cold brew, about half the caffeine. Roughly what a regular iced coffee used to be.
how we make it
Every Half Caff blend starts with beans from independent roasters we love: a standout regular coffee and a standout decaf, blended fifty-fifty, ground coarse for cold brew, and sealed in steep packs. Drop one in a mason jar, add cold water, steep overnight. That’s the whole recipe.
Around here, the jar lives in the fridge and the pours get shared. Mornings are better that way.
